La bona persona de Sezuan 2021
La bona persona de Sezuan is a dramatic work by the German author Bertolt Brecht, performed by students in the Performing Arts and Acting degree.
“In this city, if an injustice occurs, there must be a revolt! And if there is no revolt, it is better that the city be set on fire before nightfall!”
The boat that was supposed to save you is sinking: too many shipwrecks cling to it greedily. Helping you and others is too costly. Oh, how difficult this world is! Too much misery and desperation! If you extend your hand to the poor, he tears it off. If you help the lost, you lose yourself. Why, who could withstand being good for long, if you see someone dying who can’t even get a piece of meat to eat? Is it possible to find a single good person capable of living in this world?
In our country, there shouldn’t be sad evenings, nor bridges so high over rivers, nor the hours that go from night to day, and even less the dangerous winter time. Because with so much misery, very little is needed for men to abandon this unbearable life.
