POISON – The videogame as a half of expression 2017
Work based on the conceptualization of a video game design.
This project is based on the conceptualization of the first levels of a videogame with the intent of exploring the narrative possibilities of this media, a game that also made players reflect on the world that surrounds them and what they’re doing in it. It is considered that to achieve this it’s essential to know how videogames communicate and how they affet the players, in both artistic and psyschological aspects. This work will show the investigation and the conclussions around these vital matters, amongst others, centering itself on open-world videogames. This distinction is necessary given the vast amount of nuance that’s present in different genres of videogames, which aren’t consequential for the development of the practical section of this project. The game design developed throughout this work is created taking into consideration that the final product aims to reach people above the age of 18, that have a love of videogames, a challenging gameplay and good story.
