Guillermo Osorto holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia from the Escola Universitària de les Arts, ERAM – UdG. With the aim of furthering his education and specializing in audiovisual creation, he completed a Master’s in Cinematography and Film and Video Production at the Escola de Cinema de Barcelona (ECIB). Throughout his career, he has worked in film, television, and advertising, with a particular focus on screenwriting and directing. His work is characterized by an introspective approach and a narrative style that explores universal emotions and conflicts.
In 2018, he wrote and directed the short film Animales de Cristal, a transmedia project that delves into the fear of growing up through a contemplative and introspective narrative. In addition to the short film, the project includes a complementary web platform that expands on its themes through additional content. This work was selected for the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia and was nominated for the SGAE New Authorship Awards at the Sitges Film Festival. It was also part of the official selection at the Linz International Film Festival (Austria) and the Defy Film Festival (USA) and was included in the Short Film Corner catalog at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, strengthening his international presence.
As his final degree project at ERAM, he wrote and directed the short film Edén (2018), showcasing his ability to craft stories with strong visual and emotional impact. In 2021, he worked as a screenwriter and director for the web series Moodles and Noodles, a mini-series commissioned by the University of Girona that allowed him to explore new formats and digital narratives.
Currently, Guillermo Osorto is directing his new short film, L’Estany. This project focuses on the fear of change through the story of a farewell that never happens, addressing themes such as acceptance, transformation, and uncertainty about the future. With this new work, he continues to refine his narrative style and his ability to portray personal stories with a universal perspective.
