Carolina Martínez participates in the SEMINCI talks
Dr. Carolina Martínez, a professor in the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication at the University School of Arts ERAM – UdG, is giving the lecture Un viaje del precine a la Inteligencia Artificial. El gran cine que alberga nuestra mente This lecture is part of the series El cine ante las encrucijadas contemporáneas. Imágenes de un mundo que arde, organized by SEMINCI in collaboration with the University of Valladolid.
The lecture will offer an alternative journey through the history of cinema, starting from the immersive experiences of precinema, moving through the American expanded cinema of the 1960s, and arriving at current films made with generative artificial intelligence. This latter part of the content will be enriched by Carolina Martínez’s experience as a selection committee member and advisor for the RAIN+ Film Fest (Pompeu Fabra University and SONAR), the first European festival of films made with artificial intelligence.
The Valladolid International Film Festival, SEMINCI, is distinguished by its long trajectory, its commitment to auteur and independent cinema, its cultural and economic impact, its role as a talent platform, and its international projection. Considered one of the most important film festivals in Spain and an international reference, SEMINCI offers a unique cinematic experience and contributes to the dissemination of Spanish and international cinema. In 2021, professor and filmmaker Pere Puigbert won the award for best documentary with the feature film El vent que ens mou produced by David Gimbernat, also a professor at the University School of Arts ERAM – UdG.
