Diego Orlando awarded at the International Photography Awards (IPA), Latin edition.
Diego Orlando Machimbarrena completed the Master’s in Creative Photography at ERAM.
The photographer’s work was selected by a grand jury composed of gallery owners, art collectors, editors, directors, and other prominent members of the photographic world. All of them presided over by Susan Baraz, founding member and president of Focus on AIDS (FOA), the most relevant international foundation for Fine Art photography.
The award-winning series is inspired by the beauty of scenes from Spanish painters and writers, primarily the master Francisco de Goya y Lucientes. It consists of ten photographs that capture the dark Spain of the 19th century. Where women, the main protagonists, portray their submission to the strict religious norms of the time.
Now, the photographer from San Sebastian has the opportunity to compete for the coveted Lucie statue, which will be awarded to the “International Photographer of the Year” and the “Discovery of the Year.”
The winners will be announced at the Lucie Awards gala, an event held annually to honor the most outstanding individuals in the world of photography. This year’s ceremony will take place on October 28th at Carnegie Hall in New York.
