ERAM offers a new degree taught 100% in English.

The ERAM University School, a college affiliated with the University of Girona, is expanding its educational options to offer the only Degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication in Catalonia taught entirely in English.

With this new university degree, ERAM will have three courses that use feedback in order to be more proactive and creative. The Degree in Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia will be available for the 2021-2022 academic year with only 20 places offered.

The new course will educate professionals with a versatile profile as demanded by certain strategic segments of the international audiovisual industry within the framework of the new requirements, educated directly in English. The studies are divided into four years. Students will be taught general subjects in the first two years and will specialize in the second two years, with the aim that the student has a transversal knowledge of cinema, photography, graphic design, interactive design, animation, 3D and VFX.

The commitment to teaching the new course entirely in English is part of an internationalization strategy. This new approach, which will be inaugurated in September 2021, seeks to align ERAM with the growing move towards the internationalization of higher education around the world. It is in line with the general objectives defined in the international projection plan for Catalan universities, and particularly that of the University of Girona (UdG). It takes into account the criteria set by the AQU (University System Quality Agency) to increase international mobility and cooperation, which form one of the three additional dimensions of accreditation. And it is in line with the recommendations on the international vocation for Universities as set out by the Universities and Research Ministry.

Studying the subjects in English will facilitate the employment of students internationally. Similarly, the new official course of the UdG will also be attractive for all international students who wish to continue their studies in Catalonia.

The practical approach of the three courses; two in Audiovisual Communication and one in Performing Arts, turns ERAM into an arts college of the highest level, with the aim of becoming the University of the Arts of Girona. Educational innovation is fundamental to ERAM, whose aim is to observe the current requirements of professionals in the various sectors and to adapt the curricula to those needs.

Strengthening Internationalisation

One of the aims of the new course is to strengthen the internationalization of students by gaining qualifications in all subjects in English. Students will be able to choose to complete a top-up course, a double degree at various universities in England with just one further year of study. With the double degree, future employment will open up for students worldwide with a recognized degree from the Anglo-Saxon world.
