Pere Puigbert, winner of the G! Award.
Audiovisual director and professor at ERAM, Pere Puigbert, who was born in Ventalló, has won the G! Award for Tourism Communication in the Girona Regions, in the audiovisual category, from the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board. This board is the main tourism promotion organization of the Girona Provincial Council. He won with the project Anima naturae, consisting of a series of short audiovisual pieces portraying the pristine Empordà.
The external professional jury of the communication contest appointed by the Tourism Board decided that Puigbert’s work conveys the natural and landscape values that depict the purest nature of Empordà. Moreover it presents a poetic perspective of the destination. The director explained that this project, consisting of six one-minute film, took him over a year and a half of work. Furthermore it required covering a total of 300 kilometers to capture key locations. “Nature is the protagonist of this work, and we could even say it is the scriptwriter because I based it on what it transmitted to me in each moment, capturing those scenes that impacted me the most,” declared the artist.
Puigbert is currently a professor at ERAM University School and a freelance audiovisual director. The “Anima naturae” project will be materialized in the form of a museum experience next year. The city council of Figueres has awarded him an Agita Scholarship. And now he is co-producing an exhibition with the Museum of Empordà, the Museum of the Mediterranean, the Ecomuseum-Farinera de Pere Puigbert in Castelló d’Empúries, and the Casa de Cultura de Girona. Puigbert states that his goal is for “Anima naturae” to travel around the world to promote Empordà internationally.
