“Rumescu” awarded IdeaRàdio 2018 prize by Cadena Ser.
Rumescu was born almost 4 years ago, in 2014, as a university project. Led by 4 students of Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication at the University of Girona, Rumescu started as a blog featuring fake news, humorously portraying celebrity gossip in Catalan. However, the success of the format, reaching beyond the university, urged its creators to continue working on it beyond the educational scope.
Since then, in various formats, Rumescu has remained active. It has collaborated with popular figures such as Òscar Dalmau, Òscar Andreu, or the team at La Segona Hora on RAC1, with videos surpassing 7,000 views. In 2016, Rumescu collaborated with the satirical website Benegre.cat, creating the cover for a fictional Sunday magazine every week. Currently, Rumescu remains active on all social networks, with nearly 1000 followers on Facebook, over 200 on Twitter, and more than 300 on Instagram. With this journey behind it, Rumescu aims to expand its scope and become a radio program.
The goal of Rumescu is to bring laughter through parody and exaggeration of common practices in celebrity gossip. The sections will feature regulars from the Catalan star system: presenters, actors, singers, politicians, or athletes.
It is a collaborative radio program presented by three specialists in Catalan celebrity gossip: Gerard H. Serra, Aida P. Fita, and Roger Gil.
The jury appreciates the humorous daring of the Rumescu team, proposing a comedy program to poke fun at celebrity gossip, as well as the professionalism of their scripts and presentation. The project is by Gerard Hugas Serra, Aida Pérez Fita, graduates in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication at ERAM, and Roger Gil Barberà, a graduate in Scriptwriting and Production of Humor Programs for Radio and Television at Blanquerna.
The prize includes the recording and broadcast of a one-hour pilot program, which will be aired soon on Cadena SER.
Congratulations, and we wish you much success!
