Terenci Corominas directs the filming of “The Secret of the Heart”
The Olot filmmaker Terenci Corominas, a teacher on the Degree in Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia at ERAM, has begun filming the feature film, “El secreto del corazón”. The film is a production of Anayawaka Productions SL starring Maria Pau Pigem and Ernesto Collado, with the prominent participation of Pascal Monteagudo, Patricia Bargalló, Mònica Glaenzel and Isabelle Bres. The film is based on the novel by Montserrat Gascón, who is also part of the cast.

A moving and reflective story
“El secreto del corazon” explores emotional and human limits in the face of adversity. The film transports us to the lives of Joan and Clara, a married couple whose relationship is put to the test when their son, Àlex, falls into a coma after an accident. This event becomes the catalyst for facing the hidden conflicts in their relationship and rethinking fundamental concepts such as life, love and death. The narrative, full of sensitivity and depth, invites the viewer to reflect on human resilience and the hope of a new beginning.
Filming with roots and international projection, with a clear commitment to the decentralization of cinema, the project stands out for its strong connection with Garrotxa and Girona, Corominas’ homeland. The selected scenarios include the Hospital d’Olot i Comarcal de la Garrotxa, the Club Natació Olot, the Pont de Cossei and the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa, among other emblematic locations in Sant Joan de les Fonts and Girona.

The Moroccan desert has been the setting for the final sequences, adding a unique visual dimension to the story’s outcome. This combination of locations aims to highlight the natural and cultural beauty of La Garrotxa while giving the film a captivating visual aesthetic.
Regarding the motivation for this project, Corominas assures: “It is a film that highlights human relationships, the importance of facing difficult moments together and valuing the people around us. When the viewer leaves the cinema, I hope they feel the need to say an ‘I love you’ to those with whom he shared the experience.”
The filmmaker also highlights the return to his origins as an essential source of inspiration: “For me, it was inevitable to return to Olot and the landscapes of my childhood. This connection with the territory provides an authenticity that I hope will be reflected on the screen.”
Artistic and technical team with a lot of ERAM representation
“El secreto del corazón” brings together a first-rate cast led by Maria Pau Pigem, who plays Clara, and Ernesto Collado, in the role of Joan. Pascal Monteagudo, with an intense and emotional performance, completes the main trio. Montserrat Gascón, Patricia Bargalló, Mònica Glaenzel and Isabelle Bres contribute with characters that enrich the emotional complexity of the story. In addition, the film has a technical team mostly made up of local professionals, including ten students and alumni from ERAM and three from CIFOG, consolidating the desire to promote the talent of La Garrotxa and the province of Girona.
