Víctor Garcia, will participate in the Latent Festival: Winner of the Laus Young Talent Award 2024.
Víctor Garcia, creator of “Divino”, the winning project of the Laus Young Talent 2024 Award, will participate in this year’s Latent Festival. On Saturday 05/10, we will see him in Terrassa, sharing the stage with some of the most prominent Catalan graphic design studios of the moment.
The 4th edition of the Latent Festival brings together professionals from the design sector in its different disciplines. Codea, Folch, Gina Guasch, and Run are some of the graphic design studios that will be part of this year’s edition. On October 4th and 5th, Tarragona will become the epicenter of design, hosting a total of 12 conferences and the opening of an exhibition at the Sala Muncunill. The aim of this festival is to promote and empower creative talent in the field of design and digital arts.
Garcia will be part of the festival’s program on Saturday, October 5th, in the Talents ADG section. This space, where he will stand out as a student specializing in free packaging design, will give him the opportunity to deliver a short lecture on how he developed “Divino”. This opportunity comes from winning the Young Talent 2024 Award. The jury, during the award ceremony, justified their choice of Garcia’s project as the winner “For demonstrating consistency from start to finish, with a unique identity and character. For the justified use of laser technology and for being bold.”

“Divino” was brought to light at the ERAM University School of Arts – UdG. It was created and developed in the Art Direction course, supervised by Jordi Caralt, a professor in the Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication Degree. Although the project was submitted at the end of the course, Garcia felt it was not yet complete. Clara de Sousa and Sílvia Escursell, professors at Elisava, also supervised him in finishing the project.

He decided to continue the project on his own, conducting research and collaborating with artisans and resources from the Gironès area. The decision to create a wine container as a project was driven by the freedom and creative space that this type of project allows.
He began by creating the label from posidonia seaweed from the coast of Llançà. To create the glass amphora-shaped container, he collaborated with master glassmaker Ferran Collado, who works with blown glass techniques in Capellades. To choose which wine would go inside this special container, he researched wine cooperatives in the Alt Empordà, eventually selecting the Garriguella Cooperative.
