Xicu Masó wins the Critics’ Award for Best Leading Actor for ‘The Doctor of Lampedusa’
The Doctor of Lampedusa
Miquel Gorriz – Xicu Masó
Xicu Masó plays Pietro Bartolo, the protagonist of the novel ‘Tears of Salt.’
Pietro Bartolo has been a doctor in Lampedusa for thirty years. His autobiography, ‘Tears of Salt,’ recounts a life dedicated to caring for refugees who sail to the island from the African coasts. Xicu Masó has made it his own, and, with the collaboration of Miquel Górriz, presents it to us in the first person.
The Critics’ Awards, since 2015 Critics’ Awards for the Performing Arts, recognize Catalan professionals and productions in the performing arts that have been particularly valued by critics during the previous calendar year.
CONGRATULATIONS XICU!
