At the ERAM University School of Arts, we have been committed to the continuous improvement of teaching, student support and research for more than 20 years. This bet would not be possible to carry out without the effort and commitment of each one of the members that make up the ERAM.
The quality standards are the tools that allow the university institution to constantly evolve under the parameters of transparency, clarity and truthfulness. In this way, anyone who belongs, or not, to this institution can know the internal functioning, the proposals for improvement, the statistical results, etc.
Our goal is to work to be benchmarks in quality standards, transparency and teaching, while attending to the educational needs of society. Our educational model seeks the development of free, independent, creative, responsible individuals with the ability to critically and assertively reflect on their environment.
Our graduates are professionals with communication skills, technical and creative, able to act in the field of audiovisual and multimedia communication, which requires consolidating an interdisciplinary mentality due to the diversity of actions that require the use of technology, the knowledge of the means of expression, and the appropriate ethical and aesthetic training.
The School is committed to quality in all its areas of activity and formalizes this commitment by adhering to the following documents.
The most important body in the management of Quality at the ERAM University School of Arts is the Center Quality Committee (CQC) led by the head of the Center’s Internal Quality Assurance System. The ERAM Quality Committee is responsible for promoting and developing the quality policy in the areas of teaching, research and management, subjecting the institution to systematic and continuous evaluation. The CQC must also ensure quality in the design and deployment of the processes of verification, monitoring, modification and accreditation of degree studies taught at the center, as well as the processes of the SGIQ (Internal Quality Management System) in teaching center level.
The ERAM Quality Committee has the following composition:

- To ensure the proper implementation of the quality policy and objectives, as well as the necessary procedures for their deployment in the center;
- To oversee the correct development and monitoring of the quality of the processes related to verification, monitoring, modification, and accreditation of the center’s programs;
- To ensure the proper implementation and deployment of the processes within the QMS (Quality Management System) at the level of the educational center.”
- To oversee the definition and implementation of improvement plans derived from the verification, monitoring, and accreditation processes of the programs.
- Furthermore, Royal Decree 1393/2007, as amended by Royal Decree 861/2010, establishes that all degrees must have a Quality Assurance System that enables efficient management and the enhancement of official degrees to facilitate the accreditation process.”
Therefore, according to the guidelines established by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), university degrees must undergo assessment processes for verification, monitoring, and accreditation. For this reason, our Internal Quality Assurance System at ERAM has been equipped with mechanisms for effective and useful monitoring of the degrees offered at ERAM, which generate both quantitative and qualitative information to make decisions for the improvement of the programs and management.
The University of Girona has an Internal Quality Assurance System (SGIQ) that was positively assessed by ANECA in 2010. The system is centered around the Introduction to the SGIQ document and establishes procedures to promote the continuous improvement of official bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as the instruments that ensure and guarantee the quality of teaching and learning processes.
The current model is common for the entire university. Considering the shift in perspective where quality primarily lies within the educational centers, a revision process is underway within the teaching centers to make them a faithful reflection of their particular reality.
ERAM University School has adopted this SGIQ, applying the same procedures as the University of Girona, where the regulations must be the same, while customizing those that may differ.
Official degrees at the University of Girona follow a life cycle defined by the VMMA framework (verification, monitoring, modification, and accreditation). Initially, they undergo verification and are subsequently accredited by AQU Catalunya (University Quality Agency).
ERAM University School of the Arts analyzes the development of the programs it offers and reflects on their functioning. This reflection is based on both public information and data, indicators, and qualitative information derived from the Internal Quality Assurance System (SGIQ). Through this evaluative analysis, strengths and areas for improvement are identified, and they are addressed by defining objectives and actions integrated into the school’s own Improvement Plan. These improvement objectives can be university-wide, general for the educational center, or specific to one or several particular programs.
The connection between the Improvement Plan and the SGIQ is clear. Improvements proposed in the SGIQ processes are automatically incorporated into the center’s Improvement Plan, and, in turn, improvement actions identified within the VSMA framework lead to the review and update of the SGIQ processes.
This overall perspective of both processes facilitates a harmonious progression in the cycle of continuous improvement of the programs.
The monitoring of this improvement plan falls under the responsibility of the Quality Committee of the educational center, which, in the annual monitoring report, analyzes the status of each of the improvement objectives and actions, as described in the procedure.
Indicators are the quantitative signals of the evolution of the numerical variables related to a program, ranging from the number of enrolled students to the academic success rate. They are the fundamental quantitative tool for assessing and reflecting on the programs.
