Ferran Altarriba Bertran es diseñador e investigador en el campo de Human-Computer Interaction. Actualmente trabaja como profesor en la Escuela Universitaria ERAM (Girona, Cataluña) y como investigador postdoctoral en el Gamification Group de la University of Tampere (Tampere, Finlandia). Su investigación explora cómo diseñar tecnología de uso cotidiano que fomente una actitud lúdica hacia actividades mundanas para dar respuesta a las necesidades socio-emocionales de las personas. Ferran tiene una gran experiencia académica y práctica en las áreas de diseño de interacción, innovación participativa, métodos de diseño, tecnología lúdica y human-food interaction. Es graduado en Audiovisuales y Multimedia e Interactive Design por la Universidad de Girona (Cataluña) y la University Of Lincoln (UK). También tiene un MSc en IT Product Design por la University of Southern Denmark, donde se especializó en innovación participativa. Recientemente ha presentado su tesis doctoral en Computational Media por la University of California, Santa Cruz. También ha realizado estancias más cortas en otras instituciones como la Carnegie Mellon University (USA), PHL Hasselt (Bélgica) y TU / e Eindhoven (Holanda), y ha sido profesor de diseño en Designskolen Kolding (Dinamarca) y en la Escuela Universitaria ERAM (Cataluña).
